It is hard to believe that it’s that time of year again so quickly.  We are starting to plan the 6th “Kenny’s Kids” toy drive. As all of us are aware, there continues to be more people out of work while prices keep rising.  This makes this event even more important for the children in our area who would otherwise not have a Christmas.  Both Debbie and Teresa have already been checking prices and are astounded that the toys have gone up in price so much.  However, if we plan and keep checking sales, it is still feasable to get quality toys for each child in the $15.00-$20.00 range.

Although Kenny Champion lost his battle with cancer, many lives are touched each year through this event that he started seeing the need for children whose parents tried but, was unable to buy the extras at Christmas!  The Knott County Youth Foundation along with many organizations and individuals work  hard making this one of the largest events in the area.  Many kids look forward to this special day!  “Kenny’s Kids” will take place on December 10, 2011 starting at 12:00 noon at the Knott County Sportsplex. Nothing will get you in the Christmas spirit more than watching the excitement and sparkle in the childrens eyes.

Without your assistance, we could not have this event.  All donations are tax deductible (federal tax ID #54-2395635).  Thank you so much for all your help!  We also need volunteers, wrapping paper, gift bags, scissors and tape. Donations can be mailed to the address below and any wrapping paper, etc. can be dropped off at the Knott County Tourism Office.
