The Animal Control officer enforces County and State regulations for fowl, poultry, livestock, and dangerous animals,check dog tags, and control stray animals. He also investigates animal cruelty and abuse cases and bite/rabies cases.

  • September 12-13: Elk Expo

    The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF), Knott County Tourism and the RMEF's Daniel Boone Chapter are sponsoring an Elk Expo and Banquet September 12 and 13, 2008 at the Sportsplex. The event will be open on September 12 from 5pm to 9pm and on September 13 from 8am to 5pm. There will be vendors, concessions, seminars, elk tours, elk shed scoring contest, children's activities, the Moron Brothers, Tim Farmer and much more!   • October 3-5: Fall Horse Trail Ride

    It's time for the Fall 2008 Trail Ride! The ride will be begin on Friday, October 3 and last through Sunday, October 5. This year's ride will be bigger and better than ever! The cost for the entire weekend is $10 per person, children 12 and under are admitted for free.
